Cindy started out with a science degree in human development and education. She taught for 20 years at Grossmont College and the San Diego Natural History Museum. All the while studying community herbalism with Rosemary Gladstar; clinical herbalism with Amanda McQuade Crawford; indigenous healing with the Kumeyaay Nation; traditional naturopathy and nutrition with David Getoff; Natural Health Science and Spiritual PhytoEssencing with Dr. Berkowsky; clinical aromatherapy and aromatic medicine with Jade Shutes; nutrition with Dr. Mindy Pelz; Ayurveda healing, meditation and yoga at Yogamu; clinical Chinese medicine with Thomas Avery Garren; and Reading The Body and the legacy of William LeSassier with Margi Flint.
Cindy also spent 12 years attending in-person, herbal, aromatherapy and soapmaking conferences learning from every elder and herbalist of our time. For 24 years Cindy has been a certified soapmaster, formulator and teacher with the Handcrafted Soap and Cosmetic Guild. She currently teaches classes with the Herb Society of America, Sage Country Herbs, and herbal gatherings in California.
