Learn to reduce your food waste and compost at home During this workshop, you can learn:

• How to reduce food waste in the kitchen

• Why it’s so important to keep food waste out of landfills through composting and the organic waste recycling program

• Tips and tricks on how to use the curbside green bin

Attendees can make and take home a vermicomposting bin (worm composting) during the workshop – all supplies and information will be provided to start easily composting at home! Supplies are limited to one bin per household, with priority given to residents of the City of Vista.

The Sprouting Station will be open for attendees to plant fruit and vegetable seeds to take home and grow – use the finished compost from your vermicomposting bin to fertilize!
